First Clement: Essential Insights for Powerful Understanding
Chapter 1
1 The church of God which is in Rome, to the church of God which is in Corinth, belonging to those who have been called and sanctified by the will of God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Because of the recent and various calamities and calamities which have befallen us, we have been delayed in turning to your aid.
3 Nevertheless we know that you are also in the midst of afflictions, and that the hand of God is laid upon you.
Chapter 2
1 Therefore it is right that we should think of the body of Christ and be in harmony with one another.
2 For he who has called us has done so with a long-term view and has provided for our growth.
Chapter 3
1 Let us be mindful of the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, who said: Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
2 Let us seek to be meek in all ways, humble in our dealings with one another.
Chapter 4
1 For the Holy Spirit says, Put off the old man with his deeds, and put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image of him that created him.
2 Therefore, let us strive to grow in grace and be transformed into the image of Christ.
Chapter 5
1 Remember the presence of those who have gone before us, namely Peter and Paul; they are examples for our faith.
2 The trials and tribulations they faced teach us perseverance and commitment.
Chapter 6
1 The rulers who have been appointed should be respected, for the honor of God rests upon them.
2 Let us not be quick to judge or to raise ourselves against those who serve within the church.
Chapter 7
1 For we have received from God the instruction to live in unity and peace among ourselves.
2 Strive, therefore, to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Chapter 8
1 The power of God is upon us, and with it comes the responsibility to uphold the truth and to encourage one another.
2 Thus, let us carry forth the love and teachings of Christ as we grow together in faith.
Chapter 9
1 It is important to watch over each other with humility, considering that we too are in the flesh, and we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God.
2 Therefore, let us not be complacent, but rather diligent workers in the harvest of the Lord.
Chapter 10
1 We give thanks and pray for you, my brothers, that you may be strengthened in your faith.
2 Continue to persevere and shine forth the light of our Lord Jesus Christ in every good work.
